We have a range of wonderful children’s joke books. My hubby is a bit of a joker, and Cammy seems to be following in his footsteps. She’s memorised quite a few of the jokes from her books, and her delivery is quite exceptional.
Not only can telling a joke be a great party trick for young children, but learning and telling a joke is great for developing speaking skills and for initiating friendships or conversations with other children.
These are our favourite joke books for children. We’ve shared our favourite jokes from each of the books.
These particular books are brilliant for pre-schoolers and young children. They are essentially picture books, as each joke is presented over two pages, with funny illustrations that support and explain the joke. The illustrations make it possible for preschoolers to enjoy the jokes independently.

There’s nothing quite like Aussie humour. These books are jam-packed with great Australian jokes. They are more suited to older children who are independent readers as there aren’t as many illustrations throughout. They are however categorised into chapters according to topic or type of joke, and feature jokes from some of our favourite celebrities. Royalties from the sales of these books are donated to Camp Quality.
