It’s Monday, which means, along with What Do We Do All Day? No Twiddle Twaddle, Smiling Like Sunshine, Mommy and Me Book Club, and Mouse Grows, Mouse Learns, we bring you another edition of The Children’s Bookshelf.
The Children’s Bookshelf gives bloggers the chance to link up any book or reading-related post. This way, we have a collection of amazing posts in one place that help us inspire a love of reading in our children.
Each week, I feature a number of my favourite posts that were linked up to The Children’s Bookshelf.
Boy Mama Teacher Mama: Kevin Henkes, Birds and a Sock-a-too
I love being introduced to books I haven’t read, and Birds by Kevin Henkes looks and sounds delightful. The craft activity also won me over, and I thought you might like it too. I’ve seen sock monkeys and sock bunnies, but this is the first time I’ve seen a Sock-a-Too- so cute! I’m sure your kids will enjoy making one.
Also well worth a visit and a read are:
Learn with Play at Home: Early Maths with the Three Bears– We’ve role-played Goldilocks and the Three Bears many times in our home, and I’m guessing you have too. Learn with Play at Home offers a different perspective to the role play by introducing some maths concepts
Fanny Harville’s Unschool Academy: Architecture in Children’s Fiction– A great list of picture books and fiction that feature buildings
Pen pals and Picture Books: Ahoy, Thar Mateys! – If you’ve got a pirate fan in your house you must check out this list of pirate-themed books. You’re sure to find a book for every family member. Even if you’re not a pirate fan, you’ll be entertained by this post. Robyn has written a clever post written entirely in pirate language (in honour of Speak Like a Pirate Day).
